Blindtarn has been a home from home for the owner's family for generations and was completely transformed in 2019 to offer spectacular accommodation for up to 6 people. This cherished family home, steeped in history, welcomes you to indulge in its spacious interior and captivating surroundings.
Located at the end of a farm track, peace and tranquility are waiting for you. Each window frames breathtaking views, inviting you to unwind with a cup of tea while soaking in the beauty of the surrounding fields and distant fells. Beyond its outstanding outlook, Blindtarn offers a fantastic place to spend time with friends and family alike. There are a multitude of activities to enjoy whilst staying with us, most notably some of the Lake District's best walks without even having to use the car. Whether its a stroll up to Easedale Tarn, a climb over to the Langdale Valley, or to walk up the popular local peaks of Helm Crag and Silver How, the only transport you may need is a good pair of walking boots.
Step inside Blindtarn house to discover a harmonious blend of historic charm and contemporary comfort. The expansive open-plan living area features a modern chef's kitchen, complete with a large island and local slate worktops under a vaulted ceiling and a traditional farmhouse dining table under a spectacular illuminated roof lantern.
Relax in the breathtaking lounge area, with a 65 inch smart TV, Sonos soundbar, and crackling wood burning stove.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need, including a large fridge/freezer, compact dishwasher, microwave, double oven, induction hob, wine cooler and a Nespresso coffee machine.
The ground floor also hosts a utility room fitted with a WC, washing machine and tumble dryer and a ground floor bedroom with a king-sized bed - ideal for easier access. A porch and large entrance hall provide ample space for donning and storing outdoor clothing and equipment if inclement Lake District weather strikes.
Underfloor heating, generated by a ground source heat pump is provided to warm up the beautiful stone floors that run through every room on the ground floor.
Upstairs is the master bedroom boasting a king size bed, vaulted ceiling, and oak beams, with ensuite WC and shower for extra comfort. Another bedroom with vaulted ceiling is located at the end of the house on this floor and has two single beds which can also be set up as one large Superking on request.
Also upstairs is a family bathroom with a walk-in shower and large bathtub situated directly below a skylight which is perfect for stargazing. We have also included complimentary natural toiletries handmade by Pure Lakes.
Outside in the large fenced garden shared with Dale Head Cotttage, the patio offers a delightful space for al fresco dining or pre-dinner drinks amidst the fields and meadows, with the soothing sound of the nearby stream and grazing livestock adding to the ambiance.
There is parking available for two to three cars and a 7kW EV charger for the free and exclusive use of guests.

For larger groups, there is the possibility to combine Blindtarn with the adjacent Dale Head cottage to provide sumptuous accommodation for up to 10 guests.
