A grand luxury home in enviably one of the Lake Districts prime locations. This substantial Edwardian house features high ceilings and spacious accommodation for 10 guests. The contemporary additions to this heritage property are a perfect fusion of old and new which provide a perfect style and layout for the modern guest.

Designed and built in 1905 for Lady Riddell by locally renowned architects and builders, Pattinsons of Windermere. Ideally situated in 2 acres of sunny south west facing mature gardens, offering privacy and seclusion but not isolation. Storrs Hill is ideally situated a stone’s throw from Storrs Hall Hotel and under a mile from Windermere Marina and Royal Windermere Yacht club. 

The Space

A stunning open plan extension completed in 2019 comprises a contemporary designer kitchen with range cooker, integrated appliances including 4 wine coolers and its own bar. The spacious dining area is ideal for a relaxed breakfast or informal dinner, with a lounge located at the end of the room with stunning apex window and large glazing that absorbs the Lake views and leads to an excellent terrace for entertaining. A cosy snug also occupies this space.

Throughout the rest of the ground floor is the formal dining room with original oak panelling and antique table with seating for 10. Double doors from the dining room lead to a wonderful formal lounge with open fire and gorgeous panelling with fabric inlays.

To the first floor is 4 bedrooms (3 with lake views) - there are two bathrooms on this floor (one of which is ensuite). The family bathroom features a stunning freestanding bath and huge shower with double shower heads.

To the 2nd floor is a beautiful self contained suite which has already been featured in Conde Nast & The Plum guide for its ingenious details including an integrated hideaway bed. This space occupies the whole of the top floor and has the best views over Lake Windermere from its private balcony. There is also a dedicated kitchen, lounge area and ensuite.

The top floor suite can be self contained, being easily separated off from the rest of the house makes it an ideal space for members of the party seeking a little more privacy. Likewise, the suite can be an integral part of the house simply making it the 5th bedroom with its own ensuite and lounge area.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes we take 1/3 of your booking value at the time of booking with full balance payable 90 days before your arrival, A full payment will be taken for any booking made less than 90 days before arrival.

What are the property’s check in and check out times?

Check in is from 4.00pm and check out is 10.00am. special arrangements can be made on request.

Can we host an event at the property including a hen and stag party?

Unfortunately we don’t allow Hen or Stag parties at the property but would be delighted to organise a hosted event at the property utilising the main house for guests and the top floor studio for our hosting team.

Is the property suitable for children?

Absolutely as long as the maximum occupancy of 10 people isn’t exceeded , the property has great outdoor space for children to play.

I’ve never visited the Lake District before can you help with an itinerary?

Absolutely we provide full concierge support both before and during your stay and would be delighted to personally plan activities for your stay with us.
