Working full time in the hospitality industry, we decided to invest in our first letting property in 2015, a one-bedroom apartment in the centre of Ambleside. We had a vision of the perfect holiday let and spent over two and a half years restructuring, refurbishing and modernising every detail to create a stunning two-bedroom property that would stand out from the crowd in this busy marketplace.
On completion, we selected a large, local agency - who promised the best earning potential with minimal effort on our part - to market the property. Unfortunately, their results fell considerably short of our expectations, and after talking to lots of other companies, we concluded that we could almost certainly do a better job of marketing the property ourselves.
We were right!
Calling on our wealth of experience in revenue management, hospitality marketing and finance, it didn't take us long to achieve an income almost 60% higher than any quote we'd received from the local and national letting agencies we'd approached with a holiday property of this size.
We knew that if we could do this for ourselves, we could do it for other owners and so LetMeStay was born.
In 2019, our hard work was rewarded when our Ambleside property achieved Airbnb Plus status for its exceptional quality and design. We want to help our small but growing collection of holiday properties achieve the same, while also delivering a high return on investment, extraordinary occupancy levels, and unparalleled guest amenities and services.
